Vardenafil Side Effects

Vardenafil Side Effects

All medications can cause side effects, even erectile dysfunction treatments. These are the unwanted symptoms which occur as a result of a particular medical treatment, such as dizziness or light-headedness. For a therapeutic to target a particular area of the body, without affecting another, would take a great deal of scientific advancement in pharmaceutical manufacturing. Until then, mostly mild side effects remain a possibility.

Every day at least 750 senior people in the U.S. are admitted to hospitals with problems relating to their medications, including unwanted adverse effects. This mirrors some of the results observed in other developed EU countries as well as some developing nations, where numbers could be even more. Often most side effects can be managed, but there are cases where these symptoms can disrupt one's health and lifestyle as well.

Vardenafil side effects are mild and have been reported to disappear with frequent or routine use of the medication, as the body adjusts. These erectile dysfunction pills are developed to help men get an erection, but the concurrent use of alcohol for example, with these tablets, can also potentiate certain adverse effects.

It has also been reported that men who have alcohol-use disorder are more likely to experience erectile dysfunction. Alcohol is a depressant that may make it difficult for a man to get an erection, whilst under the influence. Hence, if this substance is frequently used by men who already have erectile dysfunction, it can simply worsen the symptoms of this disorder.

Common Vardenafil Side Effects

It has been found that one in ten men will experience headaches as one of the vardenafil side effects. The only other adverse effect reported by more than 10 percent of men using vardenafil tablets was facial flushing (reddening of the skin on the face, neck and upper chest area). Facial flushing was experienced by 11% of men given vardenafil in a clinical trial, whilst headaches were reported by 15% of the trial patients.

Other common vardenafil side effects include:

  • Nausea
  • Indigestion
  • Heartburn
  • Back pain
  • Dizziness

Erectile dysfunction treatments are typically safe and the side effects can normally be managed effectively without intervention. Some suggestions for the management of these effects are:

  • Physical exercise: Exercise has been reported to improve blood circulation and the increased blood flow allows for higher levels of oxygen in the body. This helps the body create energy as well as contributes to better heart health. Physical activity is also known to reduce blood pressure and the discomfort of pain too. Physical exercise and these approved ED pills help men get an erection and effectively manage the symptoms of this disorder long-term.
  • Hydration: Water is essential for good health. Drinking enough water can regulate the body temperature, help prevent infections, as well as keep organs functioning at optimal levels. Frequent consumption of water can also aid in the digestive process.

Uncommon Vardenafil Side Effects

According to the National Health Service (NHS), uncommon side effects are experienced by between 1 in 100 and 1 in 1000 people as per clinical research trials. Amongst some of the uncommon vardenafil side effects are:

  • Persistent erection: An erection normally lasts for a minutes to 30 minutes. The average time for an erection is normally 25 to 35 minutes and these can occur several times throughout the night for men. If you find you have an erection for longer than usual, you could try gentle exercise or taking a warm bath to relieve these effects. Nevertheless, if you experience a prolonged erection for more than four hours, you should consider this as a medical emergency and seek immediate treatment.

Scarring and permanent erectile dysfunction are the consequences of not seeking medical attention for this condition. Treatment will often involve the draining of the blood from the penis.
  • Sudden loss of vision: Vision loss is considered as sudden if it develops within minutes or a few days and can affect one or both eyes. Some men have reported a sudden loss of vision when using this erectile dysfunction medication. This is not a frequent occurrence as most patients and medical review platforms report that these erectile dysfunction tablets help men get an erection adequate for sexual intercourse, with minimal if any side effects.

If you experience sudden vision loss, you should stop taking vardenafil and consult a medical practitioner immediately to prevent any irreversible damage.

How Long do Vardenafil Side Effects Last?

  • There is no set time for vardenafil side effects to last, although most disappear quickly. This occurrence is specific to each individual.
  • Some side effects go away as your body becomes accustomed to the medication, but there are cases where the prolonged effects may require a treatment plan for the management of the symptoms. These are more rare cases.
  • Adverse effects can also develop after you have been using vardenafil 20mg for a long period of time as the effects of a therapeutic, as well as its side effects, can change over time. Just as tolerance to the medicine can occur, so too can intolerance. Stick to the recommended dosage and usage timeframe.
  • Even the best ED therapeutic, while being able to help men get an erection with over 80-90% success rates, can still cause side effects. These are mostly mild and passing in nature, generally because of overlooking the usage, dosage and cautionary guidelines.

How to Avoid Vardenafil Side Effects

The best and most appropriate way to avoid side effects is to use vardenafil tablets as directed. The risk of side effects increases if you use dosages greater than the advised vardenafil dosage or for treatment periods longer than those prescribed.

The best erectile dysfunction medication on the market, like the above, can effectively fulfil their intended purpose with minimal side effects, but adverse effects may not be totally avoidable. The following are ways to help avoid or minimise these effects:

Do not take too many medications at once: Therapeutics can have a "cascading effect", this means that the active ingredients can interact with each other, consequently resulting in unwanted symptoms. To avoid possible side effects, it is best to simplify your therapeutic regimen as much as possible.

Drink plenty of water: One of the most common side effects is headaches, and drinking water can help relieve these symptoms as well as others. Staying hydrated can also have many other benefits to one's healthy and body too, such as reducing blood pressure.

Hello John, I had the misfortune of experiencing one of the side-effects that you mention, a priapism. 35 minutes after taking this medication I got the biggest erection of my life, this lasted for over 4 hours in total and it wasn’t all pleasant. Thankfully after 2 hours submerged in a warm bath, drinking gallons of water my erection finally began to dissipate. Reading your blog saved me an embarrassing trip to A & E and I wanted to say thanks. Terry C
